My name is Tracey Hackett and I am the Rural Outreach Worker for the South Staffordshire Network for Mental Health. We are a small charity, based in Lichfield which supports individuals in the districts of South Staffordshire who have personal experience of mental distress; by enabling involvement, giving active representation and providing a campaigning voice. My role in the charity is firstly to make grass roots contacts with people in rural areas, promote our work and services and secondly gather feedback from people in these communities about their experience of local mental health services and any other issues that affect their well-being/quality of life in their locality. Further information about us can be found at our website; http://www.ssnmentalhealth.btck.co.uk
A big part of my work currently is promoting a thought provoking talk, written by one of our volunteers with experience of mental illness called 'Mental Illness - Fighting Fear and Stigma Together'. This lasts around half an hour with 30 minutes after allowing for questions/ discussion/scenarios. We can tailor the talk to suit your needs and are very keen to spread awareness on the stigma that mental health has within communities. Please get in touch if you'd like to arrange a talk or get further information. Call 01543 301139 or email me at email@example.com.
